Few days have captivated as much interest and shock as October 7th 2023.
When Hamas and other Palestinian Militants Groups launched a coordinated attack from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, the very essence marked the beginning of a year-long all-out conflict that destroyed the stability of the Middle East in so many ways. The conflict has brought home the harsh reality of war “Our television and social media, the very way we see conflict”, which has now claimed over 41,957 casualties (Many of them civilians)and with no end in sight, we need to ask ourselves how many more death are necessary to show the rest of the world that enough is enough.
So maybe we need to ask whether there will ever be peace in the Middle East. And what kind of peace will that be, with Israel declaring an all-out state of war and with so many other factions, such as Hezbollah (Situated in Lebanon), taking centre stage, and with the escalation of the attacks on both sides has made for uneasy situation around the world (Most notably the UN). Yet in any one view Hamas attack on October 7th was an act of terrorist.
However, with so many more comprehensive countries, interventions in one way or another have escalated the devastating humanitarian impact on both sides, which only served to alienate both parties and blow any chance of peace. A now unknowing generation of who now see the reality of war and will most likely grow up to the very idea of ever lasting war. The very sight of family members being killed is an incentive to create ever more hatred between the Palestinian and the Jews. and despite every thing they will only see this way of thinking and war the only answer.
Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organisation that is highly in the wrong. Still, Israel has made a more comprehensive and even bigger conflict with the reality of many future generations with hatred towards the Jews and, in many ways, the hatred of the Palestinians by the Jews. With so many young citizens, this conflict only serves one god, and that is never be any peace in the Middle East for many generations to come
